The author of MiniMax and the Ant invites children on a natural scientific expedition. Nine-year-old Max, the son of a biologist, follows in his father's footsteps: he becomes a science-explorer attempting his first experiments and observations. It's holiday time and Max chooses his area of interest to be all about ants. However, something unexpected happens: little Max turns into the even smaller MiniMax as he becomes a miniature-sized boy, about as big as an ant. In the space of a few moments, Max goes from being a normal-sized observer to become MiniMax, and the former object of his research now becomes his colleague, the ant. But then, the main point is no longer science but getting home! And what will his parents say? Overcoming various problems (having to escape a spider or flying on a butterfly), he finally gets home in the evening. Did he learn his lesson? And will he ever return to his normal size again? Jiří Dvořák, a real biologist and botanist, does not leave his readers to doubt in this new book: he truly offers a story about the living world that surrounds us, in an effortless and thrilling way. There is much to be learned from this story as it is certainly never boring or obscure! This book is accompanied by imaginative illustrations from Radana Přenosilová.
