Jara the Parrot decides to make a clean break from the Prague Zoo and exchange his cramped cage for the whole of Africa. He is joined by a few friends and they embark on a long trip. And it isn't easy, for just getting on the tram can cause great problems. It’s luck that Mother Nature has made some animals real smart. On a trip over hill and dale, the young reader is accompanied by Alžběta Skálová's excellent illustrations.
