Mr. Nobody and the White Darkness

Returning home from a beautiful autumn day, a mother and her girls expect their father to open the door and welcome them in, but he is not at home. Nor can they find him anywhere around the house… As time passes, they grow more and more agitated – where can he be? What has happened to him? Then at last the doorbell rings, but it is not their father. It is Mr. Nobody. Is he real or the product of a fantasy? Dora Kaprálová’s horror miniature for children eight and up is about fear and hopelessness and how they can be conquered. The author skillfully works with suspense, absurdist shorthand and subversive humor.
