Juraj Horváth, Marka Míková / Roches & Bžunda

Roches and Bžunda are funny shaggy-haired characters looking like crossbreeds of school children playing hooky and adorable lay-about patrons frequenting a dirty railway station snack-bar, definitely not your typical good guy types. Before they meet, Bžunda just sits perched on a sidewalk railing, counting cars passing by and being a bit bored. Having saved Roches from being run over by a speeding car, they become chums and strike out, swapping the dull city and its ordinary things, devoid of any charm and making them feel like lonely outsiders, for play and wild imagination. Written in rich, joyful language, the text is full of unexpected ups and downs and comic strip-like suspense.
