Ivan Diviš, Markéta Šimková / Rhymes and chimes

It doesn't happen too often that a manuscript by a famous poet would be found, altering the perception of his work. However, such is the case with Ivan Diviš, for in 2003 his son Martin found, among his childhood things, a collection of poetry titled Říkadla a kecadla (Rhymes and Chimes) which his father wrote for him in 1964. Those acquainted with the poems of Ivan Diviš, texts full of anguish, rage, despair and righteous anger will be very much surprised by his poems for children in which the author is revealed as a gentle poet, playful and with originality akin to that of Morgenstern, witty and sensitive to the child's perception of the world, The work is most enjoyable due to the ever-present humor, exaggerating overstatement, jocularity...
