Josef Štefan Kubín

*1864, Jičín, † 1965, Prague.
Writer, folk literature collector.
Spent his entire life collecting and tirelessly transcribing thousands of folk stories and oral legends from the foothills of the Krkonoš Mountains, which he published remaining faithful to their original dialect.
His lively novel approach to the language and storytelling of ordinary people was later used in a similar way by B. Hrabal.
