Dagmar Urbánková / My Name is Emanuel Fajahyla

Emanuel Fajahyla is a lonesome author who loves his mother and sometimes imagines what it would be like if he lived with the woman of his dreams. But one day, whoa, a bear moves in with him instead. Eman has many funny experiences with that bear who ends up turning his life inside out (can a bachelor’s life actually be turned inside out?). Dagmar Urbánková is a scenographer, painter, illustrator and author of many children’s books in the vein of absurdist nonsense humor with 20th century influences from Marcel Aymé and William Saroyan to Czech small stage theater. Always delightful and unambitious, her tales resonate within us long after we have finished reading them.
