Daisy Mrázková

* 1923
A painter, illustrator and writer. She studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague with Prof. Antonín Strnadel. In the beginning, she focused only on the visual arts, partaking in many exhibitions. She was engaged especially in oil painting, but later focused more on pen-and-ink and also coloured pencil drawings, and in the 1990s she significantly used egg tempera paint. Since 1962, she has been engaged with children's literature and illustrating children's books, while in the 1970s she was a pioneer of the children bilderbuch genre. Her works have been translated to Slovakian, English, German, Japanese, Lithuanian and Slovene.
