/ 12 Tiny Fairy-Tales
12 years of Baobab – 12 slim books, 12 classical European fairy-tales in pictures told by Baobabʼs artists on 16 pages in 1 box. 12 fairy-tales = 12 authored image books = 12 small books for small hands, meant mainly to be looked at, but read, worked on and told over and over again.
The art techniques employed are wonderfully various - from the comic retellings of Alžběta Skálová (How the Old Man Changed and Changed) and Dagmar Urbánková (All About a Clever Trickster), fantastic card paintings by Juraj Horváth (Tall, Fat and Sharp-Eyed), the linocut farce of Chrudoš Valoušek (About a Beetroot), the wild and loose paintings of Tereza Říčanová (The Firebird and the Grey Wolf ), and cool pop images of Radana Přenosilová (Three Little Pigs), decorative collages by Michaela Kukovičová (Gingerbread House) , witty spray compressions of Dora Dutková (About a Little Doughnut), the playful symbolic storytelling of Eva Maceková (Little Red Riding Hood), smart stencils of Petr Šmalec (About Smolíček), and the embroidered “primitive art” of Eva Wolfová (Sleeping Beauty), as well as the poetic paintbrush of Daisy Mrázková in the style of Darja Čančíková (The Fox and the Little Mouse).
