BAOkolektiv / 12 Little Horror Stories

12 illustrated notebooks in a red-black box from 12 contemporary authors offering 12 opportunities to be scared while reading fairy tales, stories, parodies, ballads and science fiction. The collages from Michaela Kukovičová tell the story of a wordly-wise French hairdresser who desires a beautiful braid. Tereza Říčanová's inspiration for her red-black notebook was found in J. Š. Kubín's story about the Black Lady, the kind Amálka and the twelfth room. Juraj Horváth depicts a 1939 night spent in a house on a cliff. Radana Přenosilová brings a rhymed ballad about the beautiful gardener Květa and jealousy, leading to a murder. A horror vacui with a Big Bang in the centre was assembled by Jan Čumlivski. A birthday rampage of ball lightning can be found in Dora Dutková's notebook. A comic strip about a species from an unknown planet floats in space, guided by Petr Šmalec. Markéta Šimková returns to a ballad of a hungry dog, a sparrow and an angry farmer. Together with Stanislav Setinský, we can flick through the pages of a diary from the journey to Bloody Planet. A story about the strength of Czech garlic, an archaeology student and the immortal Dracula is told through a pictorial whirl from Chrudoš Valoušek. The dark plotting of Baba Yaga is revealed by Eva Maceková. And the summer tale from Alžběta Zemanová about Katka and cat's miaowing, screaming and shrieking also starts in a completely innocent way.
